The Blog

Bariloche Beer & Travel Blog takes a light-hearted look at Bariloche's local craft brewing scene, throws in some mouth-watering local fare for good measure and is set to the backdrop of soaring mountains and frigid lakes. Follow me as I travel around Argentinean Patagonia in search of the perfect craft beer and artesian food match.

Who's the Blog For?

Beer Novices

I am no beer expert so Beer Novices will learn as I learn. You will learn about craft beer - what goes in it, how it's brewed, different styles, etc. - and how to match it with food.

Beer Experts

Beer experts will be provided with an insight into the local scene as I speak with local Brewmasters, Chefs and Homebrewers.

Travel Enthusiasts

Travel Enthusiasts will get a glimpse into one of the truly beautiful corners of the world. I will be taking in the local sights and sounds, while chatting to the characters that make up Argentinean Patagonia.

About the Author

Brendan Layton is an Australian living in Bariloche, Argentina. He likes to write about himself in the third person as it gives the reader the impression that someone else is writing about him, and that makes him feel important. In short, he's a bit of a nob (see picture for proof).

When it comes to beer, he loves them all: the bitter punch of an IPA, the citrus and spice notes of a witbier, the chocolate flavours of a stout. However, he is by no means a beer expert. Which begs the question: why is he writing a blog about beer?

By way of moving on, he hopes you enjoy this blog. He welcomes any feedback, criticism or general harassment, particularly when he fouls up, which he is bound to do.

So without further ado. Salud!
